Eco-responsible production

A return to the regional plant

Our choice of LOCAL was born from wisdom, after distant travels, which led us to return to the regional plant when it is available. From this comes this bold and proactive choice to distill, ourselves, some 50 different plants, harvested as close as possible to our distillery, allowing us to guarantee true traceability, without intermediaries. This real requirement for traceability “from field to bottle” is essential to guarantee the exceptional quality of our products.

We work with organic regional plants, around fifty, originating from the Mediterranean area and mountain areas, explains Laurent Gautun. We need clean spaces with low-intensity agriculture... Setting up a production unit in Lozère interests us because it is part of this logic of bringing together cultivation and harvesting.

We only distill fresh plants from organic farming. Organic guarantees an absence of pesticides in our essential oils and hydrosols. Our processes are free from any form of chemistry. We adopt maximum scientific rigor by producing biologically and botanically defined essential oils, 100% pure and natural without the addition of preservatives. We distill in a passively inspired eco-built building, powered by 100% renewable and cooperative electricity, without air conditioning...

A circular supply network

Essenciagua has set up a supply circuit with farmers and certified organic pickers near the distillery.

Everything is designed in a circular economy logic to promote local resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Essenciagua controls the entire production chain to guarantee exceptional quality.

The plant residues from the distillations are composted and used by the distillery's partner farmers.

A powerful local network to promote and develop the territory

The installation of Essenciagua in Lozère is strongly linked to the establishment of commercial and industrial relations with local economic players.

Essenciagua engages in close cooperation with players in the regional dairy or agri-food sector. The floral waters of Essenciagua thus find a new way of valorization that matches their level of food and organic quality.

For several years, Essenciagua has been carrying out research and development work with laboratories, health and well-being centers as well as aromatherapy specialists through a partnership established with the Société d'Economie Mixte de la Lozère ( SELO), also manager of the department's two thermal spas, specializing in respiratory conditions and rheumatology.

This strategy is reinforced by the articulation found, at the regional level, with the Strategy of Intelligent Specialization and development of organic agriculture carried by Sud et Bio. The Essenciagua project links two priority areas of this strategy: innovative non-drug therapies and the promotion of organic Mediterranean crops.

Essenciagua was at the origin in 2019 of an Ecological Transition Contract unique in France due to its health dimension aimed at developing a comprehensive sector from culture to new uses.
