My testimony
Normally, I drink a lot, at least 3 liters of water (often “hydrolated”) per day. When I'm traveling or in meetings outside, I don't drink enough, which quickly becomes a problem, without me really knowing why. What makes me realize this is this feeling of having to urinate frequently, for nothing. I feel slight burning in my lower abdomen, and “kidney” pain in my lower back. Fortunately, I was always able to stop the emerging infection quickly enough, with hydrosols, before having a fever and real cystitis. My mother and my grandmother suffered from it regularly, so I pay special attention to it.
My tip
Over time, I noticed that savory hydrosol really helped speed up the disappearance of symptoms. Once the signal is given that I haven't drunk enough, I force myself to consume a lot of water. I add 3 times a day, before meals, a tablespoon of savory hydrosol, which I supplement if possible with a tablespoon of cinnamon hydrosol. Cinnamon hydrosol is, like savory hydrosol, a powerful urinary anti-infective, thanks to other molecular families. Their actions therefore complement each other perfectly.
Sitz baths with savory hydrosol have a reputation for being very effective. I admit I have never tried it. I'm making a simplified version of it. For good local hygiene, when I go to the toilet, I immediately prepare "wipes" by soaking the toilet paper with savory hydrosol, which I use instead of classic toilet paper (be careful, not to do with the cinnamon hydrosol, which can be irritating when used pure on the skin).
What does herbal medicine say?
Savory has been known since Antiquity for its aphrodisiac and digestive properties. Nowadays, savory is used in different forms (infusions, decoctions, floral waters, essential oils, capsules, mother tinctures) mainly for its digestive properties, against fatigue, to treat urinary infections and gastroenteritis. The analgesic, anti-inflammatory, immunity-boosting and antimicrobial properties of mountain savory are well demonstrated (Vitanza et al., Microbial Pathogenesis, 2019). Positive effects of savory essential oil have been demonstrated on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus infections, effects mainly attributed to the carvacrol and thymol molecules which compose it. Savory hydrosol is composed of more than 80% carvacrol, a powerful bactericide and anti-infective.

serious complications if not treated If symptoms persist after 48 hours and/or there is a fever, a consultation is necessary
I use hydrosols SAFELY

SATUREJA MONTANA Mountain savory
Originally from around the Black Sea and southern Europe, savory is an aromatic and honey-producing sub-shrub, with its small white flowers, which was introduced to central Europe around the 9th century. Frequently cultivated in gardens in the Middle Ages, savory was part of spice blends and aromatic bouquets, and it was often said that it promised long life to its users. In fact, savory, with its spicy and peppery flavor, is one of the most tonic and anti-infectious plants. The hydrosol stimulates and strengthens immunity; it is also very useful in ENT, gastrointestinal and urinary infections.
